Simon Kearn After incurring a number of running injuries I started to take my OCR in Gym instruction in October 2004. Through my daughters interest in Synchronised Swimming I became a Synchronised Swimming teacher/coach in January 2005. I then proceeded to take my Level 1 in Teaching Synchronised Swimming in March 2005, after finishing my OCR course in February/March 2005.
Since then I have used my knowledge whilst taking both stamina swimming sessions and teaching figures for the current British National Synchronised Swimming Champions; Rushmoor Synchronised Swimming Club.
In July 2005 I took over jointly the position of Head of Figures/Head Coach and then in January 2006 became the sole Head of Figures/Head Coach. During this time I also undertook my Level 2 in Teaching Synchronised Swimming, and have attended a number of seminars in Child Protection and Periodisation Training.
Currently with Rushmoor Synchronised Swimming Club I have undertaken Circuit Training and Flexibility sessions for Age Group, National and GB Elite swimmers.
In September 2006 I became a qualified Boxercise Instructor and I am currently in the process of enhancing my knowledge by looking to undertake a number of workshops and seminars, and to become a UKCC Level 1 Diving instructor (Springboard)
I have also been approached a number of times to undertaken fitness sessions at both a Synchronised Swimming Camp arranged by the Hampshire ASA and one identified as a Multi-Regional (previously known as Southern Counties) Camp. Learn more >>
